98_V90: Right Brake Light, bulb and socket good
On 1998 V90, in AM, nothing happening overnight, the right (passenger side) brake lamp went out, but the running lamp is lighted. Two filament bulb--lower lamp--running and brake light combined. Dash warning light is on.
Replaced bulb twice, swapped lamp plug with driver's side to confirm it was not the plug.
Inside of lamp housing is clean--although some years ago, had shorts when car was washed, fixed with caulk on the lens.
Had happened last year, changed some bulbs then went away. But not this time.
Any suggestions or help will be appreciated.

Problem solved for now.
Was driving me nuts. Thought I got it finally fixed after changing both left and right bulbs with new, sanded and expanded the contacts. Finally, both worked.
I put the access covers back on--had to pound a bit, and right light went out. I played with it--it came on, but left brake light went out. I played with that, and it came back on, but right brake light went out.
Finally, in frustration, I took the right brake socket and twisted it back and forth, just for the heck of it, since I was out of ideas. It worked. So it was a contact problem.
I bought two new sockets, but ended up not using. I have 10 bulbs now too.

Thanks.
I am not that good with wiring diagrams. But I had fixed my power window master switch and hazard blinkers.
I went to Auto Mechanics school one summer while at college. The instructor said, if you understand wiring diagrams, you've got it solved--but if someone wants an electrical problem solved, don't do it in 5 minutes, take a nap, and then charge him/her for an hour--damn crook--but it is true.
