Blinking arrow
The transmission warning arrow started blinking as I pulled into the parking lot this morning. I read that it is most likely the PNP switch, but I can shift out of park fine. The CEL also came on. It went into limp mode and I didn't have my scanner with me ( I should just put it in the trunk as much as I have needed it lately), so I pulled the diagnostics fuse which stopped the blinking, but the CEL stayed on. I scanned it when I got home and it showed no codes even with the light on. I went through the clear codes routine anyway and the CEL went off. Could it possibly be the gear selector microswitch? If so how hard is it to replace? I love this car, but it is driving me nuts lately. As soon as I get one light to go off, another one comes on. I guess that is what you have to expect at 238k. I did the shifting thing (d-->l) a couple of times, and drove 40 miles home with no arrows. The scanner is in the car now because you know it will come on again tomorrow!
