Where's my oil going?
Hey everyone,
It's been a while since I posted last but I have another question. My 1996 960 with 96k miles has been using a lot of oil lately. It was really noticable this past weekend when I drove from Boston to Philadelphia and back (~350 miles each way). I did about 65mph the entire time, the carran great, and it got excellent gas mileage. The problem is it used about 1/2 quart of oil each way. There are no oil leaks and there is no smoke comming out of the exhaust so I have no idea where this oil is going. I change the oil every 3000mi and use Mobil 1 full synthetic. I have read some posts that talk about something called "blow by" or that say to replace the "flame trap". Any idea as to whatthe problem could be? Thanks for your help.
