Default blow by

I noticed blow by for my 96 volvo 960

I changed oil to synthetic, added BG MOA, RF-7, and 44K.

It has about 130000 miles on it.

Are there any ways to reduce the blow by?

Check the Positive Crankcase Ventiation system. If it is choked it will cause blow by.

I get blow by on my 93 960 whenever the oil is filled right up to the top of the dipstick, so I put in about 1/4 quart less and all is well.

It's ok
It's no biggie

The blow by is simply an unburned mixture of fuel and air. When your engine's piston rings or cylinders are worn out, unburned mixture of fuel and air accumulate in the crankcase. That mixture can cause the oil quality to depreciate, which in turn results in poor lubrication and again unburned mixture of fuel and air.

In order to check, you can drive your car and park it at a safe place, open up the oil filler cap with engine running, if you see some smoke, it's a blow by.

It doesn't make any difference for my engine. I still get some smoke with 1/4 less quart.
