Door lock sticking in 760
Hi guys,
I have an '89 760 turbo sedan with a door lock problem. When I turn the key in the driver's side door to lock it, it won't stay locked -- it just pops back up. It will work sometimes if I keep trying, but usually it just refuses to stay down.
Because it's the driver's door, it also locks the other doors. When it pops back up, all other doors unlock too.
Any idea where the problem might be? Is it a faulty cylinder? Or the actuator? If it's a bad cylinder, how can I fix it? I can't find any replacement cylinders online.
thanks for your help.

Does your door close easily or do you have to slam it pretty hard? Because if the latch is out of adjustment and the door isn't completely closed this can happen. Alternately, the linking rods within the door may need adjustment. Pulling the door card is maybe something you don't want to totackle, but there is a rod coming up from the door lock actuater that can be adjusted up and down.

I think that door panel is the same as my '87, 740 GLE. It should be easy to pull the door panel and look in there.
- Unscrew the lock ****
- Pull the speaker cover and remove 1 screw in that cover.
- Pull the 3 or 4 tabs from the bottom of the panel.
- Pop the inside door handle off and remove the cup that is in that area (maybe 1 screw thing).
- Pull the light at the edge of the panel (has a clip so be careful not to break it), then remove the clip behind the light.
- Pull the panel out at the bottom, pull loose a few clips, and lift it off the top ridge.
Once you get the door panel off there is a white plastic piece (for security I think) that you can remove to look at those parts. I think you need an adjustment in there.
