I found a nice looking 94 960 for sale at a pretty reasonable price, so I went ahead and checked it out yesterday.

Everything checked out pretty good (it does have leaking Nivomat shocks in the back, though...), except for this hesitation/sputtering when punching it.

When you hit the gas you don't really feel the kick-down and you can just hear the engine trying to rev, but then the revs come back down again, go up, come back down etc. etc. and you don't really gain any speed.

When you accelerate smoothly, there's no problem and the transmission seems to be working just fine. Therefore I don't think the problem is with the transmission. Or is it...?
