To Junk or Not to Junk??????
Hey Everyone:
I have a 97 960 wagon and I need to know what would be the best way to dispose of it. The car has 130,000 miles on it and I would say that it runs fair. However the Tranny is gone. I found one at a salvage yard with 90,000 miles for 700 bucks and another 450 to swap them out. My question is...... Is it worth doing? or am I better off putting it on ebay as a parts vehicle. Thepaint is below average and it needs a new windshield other than that its an ok car, not great but ok.Any advice would be appreciated. Especially by my wife who really wants to get rid of the eyesore in the driveway.
Thanks

Put the tranny in it. The car is still a baby at 130,000 miles. The engine easily has another 100,000 left in it and the 960's aren't too common any more. If it doesn't have lots of rust then keep it and put in the tranny.
check completed ebay auctions for that model ... I'd expect you can get $3,000 or more for it once you do the repairs, that ought to be a better financial outcome than just selling it for junk which will get you what, $250 maybe ?
