Hello I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on supercharging my 1996 960 wagon. I have here the specs from the website.

This is a SCAM. Do not buy it. They do not work.

If you want more power add a turbo or a REAL supercharger. Of course both would be a very custom job.

Or sell your car and buy a turbocharged Volvo.

It is a SCAM. Your not going to gain anything from this.

Like I said before either custom turbo or custom supercharge your 960 instead. And no this doesn't count as a custom supercharger.

Or sell your car and buy a turbocharged Volvo.

Trust me your going to spend more money then your car is worth to turbo your 960 and even more so to custom supercharge it with a real supercharger. Selling it and buying an already turbocharged model would be the way to go and mod it from there. If you can afford it.

 

yeah i've been thinking about your first post and buying an already turbocharged volvo would be better, i agree.

but just out of curiosity... lets say you decided to do a custom turbo job on a 960, how exactly would you come about doing that? just take it to a shop or do everything yourself even down to the nitty-gritty? thanks, by the way, you may have very well saved me [sm=shades.gif]

 

If your good with your hands and know what your doing then piece a kit together and do it yourself.

But most people cannot and will have to have a shop do it. Which will cost even more.

Here is a short list of items you will need.

1. Turbo
2. Downpipe
3. Catback system
4. Intercooler
5. Intercooler hard pipes
6. Turbo hoses
7. Vaccum lines
8. Hose clamps or better yet T-bolt clamps
9. Water or oil lines
10. Boost gauge that can read at least 25 In Hg and 25 PSI. That is vaccum (In Hg)and boost (PSI).
11. Major tuning, and this is where your going to want to take your time and get the best tune you can get. It would have to be dyno tuned to get the proper tuning right on the money. Which takes time and MONEY.
12. More then likely your going to have to upgrade fuel injectors, possibly fuel pump, etc...
13. Etc...

Like I said this is a short list of things you would need.

I would say to turbo your 960 it is going to cost well over $5,000 to do it right. And that is more then the car is actually worth most likely.

Get an 1995-1997850 Turbo, T5, T5R or R. Or get a 1998 S70 Turbo or T5, the s70R wasn't imported to the US. So don't look for one. Or get an 1998 V70 Turbo, T5 or R.
