960 has been running great! No problems at all. Drove home today , nothing unusual, light rain, ran fine. Car sat for about 2.5 hours started it, thought I had a wierd problem w/ interior lights...... backed down driveway , headed out. Approx a mile up the road we notice the 3 trans modes lights are flashing, the service engine light is on, the arrow up light is on , and the check engine light is on. The speedo and tach are not working.
We pull over , shut it down , start it back up gauges are fine , but all the lights are still on and or flashing...........

First guess is an alternator. Time to start checking wiring (and fuses). Good luck.

 

Maybe a hick-up in the system. If you have a code reader, clear the codes and see if it comes back.

 

Could be the signs of a failing ignition switch. Try jiggling the key.

Bet you have a whole lot keys on your key chain too.

I gotta go with DanR on this one I had ongoing phantom electrical problems until I replaced the switch. See below link for details.

OK Thanks Guys! I did the play w/ the shifter, worked great!

Not the ignition, thought of that. Not too many keyss either.



However, now how do I turn off the engine light? Is there a way to do this without a code reader?
