Default Questions about wires

ok so i have some cashe saved up and im looking to buy a system for my 96' 965 wagon, heres what im getting

heres the reciever

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=4768277

and heres the subs/amp

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Bazoo...oductDetail.do

now i went to the best custom system place in town the other day and they told me yes, they could wire those all up in my car, but it might cost upwards of $700 because older volvos need all new speakers when they get any aftermarket electronics put in. is there any way i can avoid this?

thanks in advance!

The guys at Best Buy told me the same thing and i said "that's crazzy talk!" which it is. Just tell them to hook em up anyway and if you blow them....you blow them. Just turn down the vollumn.

However, to maximize the chance of not blowing out speakers, here's a little story. The first time i put a system in my 240 i connected all the factory speakers to the front channels. Then i connected the rear channels to a couple 6x9s i put in the back. Saves a little cost i guess? Pluss it sounded super neeto!

i blew the fronts AND rears...which were both aftermarket in my 240 sedan. i'd strongly suggest replacing the factory speakers with more powerful aftermarkets. most aftermarket stereos have a minimum of 25watts per channel. factory speakers usually are only about 20watts. you'll end up blowing them in the long run, but for a little, you might be fine.
