so..96 960....recently i noticed my headlights and taillights flashing(as if i had just remotely locked the car) inexplicably while the car is locked in my drive way. it started slowly at first....maybe once or twice an hour(?) to like every ten minutes, five minutes, and so on. they now blink about three times per every couple minutes. i havent yet looked into the problem, because i have no idea where to start. i know the ignition switch needs changed but that mainly gave me problems when the car was hot. but now that the Pennsylvania winter is here it has been doing this. i dont know if the two situations are related.

 

I'd pull the alarm fuse. You may have a bad latch. Is everything closed good?
