is this tied to the problem that when i start to drive my car the anti-lock brake light comes on and everything is fine?

Most likely yes they are tied together.

The ABS sensor sends signal for the speedo.

First inspect the wiring to the sensor. They are known to break a wire or it will pull out of the plug.
If all is good replace the sensor.

No not the Speedo!

Look in the back of the car.In the cover for the rear end. You should see the sensor in the center of the cover.

Under the car where both axles would meet in the middle. The cover on the rear end (Where the axles are mounted in)that faces the rear of the car has the sensor in it.
