Because of a problem with the SRS light staying on which meant that my alternator wasn't charging my mechanic replaced the instrument cluster. I have a 1994 940 non-turbo. I don't know what year the replacement was from but it was from a turbo. It solved the problem, the gas gauge still didn't work just like from the original but that's a minor annoyance. Now, the speedometer has quit working. I have moved to a small town in the middle of nowhere. There is a mechanic that appears capable but hasn't worked of Volvos.
My question, do you think it's mechanical or due to faulty instrument cluster problems and what should I have my mechanic look for?
