Default Stuck in P, no start

Hi all!
My Automatic selector stuck in P, wont move even with ignition and brake on. Also starter motor doesnt engage in start position, doesnt click or anything. same as when you try to start in D. Happened in middle of day when I turned it off for 5 mins, never happened before. Volvo 960 1992 2.9L.
Thanks in advance!

Is the steering wheel locked? Can you operate the shift lock and put it in neutral and see if it will start in N? Search for information about PNP switch and see if the symptoms are the same.

Default Did you try pulling on the shift lock release?

To get the shifter out of park, apply the brake, turn the key to position 2, reach your index finger between the brush near "1" and pull up on the yellow latch. You should be able to shift out of park and into neutral. Maybe it will start then.
