Today, I tried to replace the selector gates for the sunroof. Well I got as far as the glass removal, the plastic rail that acts as a limit for the interior sliding panel, and two small clips that hold the selctor gate to the rest of the assy.
I could not get the selector gate assy to come out. It appears there is no way to get the selector gate out of the track.
Also there is what appears to be a bent part on both sides (see picture) that is holding down the front deflector. The bent part does not move at this point, is it designed that way?
The motor will run forward and in reverse IE: the back of the sunroof will raise and lower.
Any help will be appreciated.

The bent part looks pretty much like mine does, but I did not remove my glass to check. Looking in down the track with the sunroof open I can see it down the track, waiting to make contact with the deflector rail. Kinda looks like a kick stand.
I'm not sure what the "selector gates" are but maybe you can get further by opening the sunroof all the way (with the glass removed). If the rails don't go back with the switch, try pushing them back manually.
If all else fail, send Tech a PM.
