Default Surging idle and stalling diagnosis help questions

So, I got my 960 running. Backed it out of the driveway, and I noticed that when it was under load when I put it in gear, the idle would start to surge bad if I held my foot on the brake in gear, but ONLY with the HVAC system turned on. I unplugged the AC compressor, and the surging went away, for the most part. However, I took it for a drive around the neighborhood, and when I stopped at a stop sign, it stalled and would not restart until it cooled down. Once it cooled down, it restarted again perfect. Ran it in the neighborhood for awhile last night, WOT on on a side road, etc., and it ran perfect. Parked it in the garage, shut it down, and for curiosities sake, I tried to crank it over - would not start at all. Put a fuel pressure gauge on it, and fuel pressure remained a steady ~45 psi at idle.

Cliffs - need help with a hot no-start problem.
