Default Till next time, Volvo

Sadly the day has come......my beloved 93 960 ate its A/C compressor, and several hundred miles later is making lots of bearing noise in the lower end. It still runs smooth, but the noise is getting worse and worse. As badly as I wanted to find another volvo, I really wanted a manual transmission this time around. So I ended up buying a 2001 Subaru Outback as its replacement. If this car is half as good as the volvo was I'll be content. Still, it's a sad day. On a side note, if I can't sell the car on consignment I will probably post it up here. Obviously it will need a total engine rebuild, but the car is super solid. 228k New tires, newer shocks, and all new bushings on the front end. If anyone might be interested let me know.

Changing old cars is like changing wives. You're exchanging one problem with another.

haha. Man, this new subaru is a whole different game. I have to say while it is a bit more fun to drive, it doesn't feel quite as solid as the ol volvo did....

I find the complete lack of performance from the Subaru flat four very disappointing. I also hate how the gearbox synchros fail very early in life. I wish you the best but I expect you'll grow to dislike the Subaru, like most people do.
