Hello
My first posting!
Need a step by step procedure for changing the timing belt. An how to determine if the tensioner and idler pulley is bad.
It is a 1995 960 and has 112K. Cannot read the new belt change sticker so I'm in the dark as to when it was last changed.

Change the idler bearing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I had a timing belt changed on my car by a prevoius owner who didnt change the idler bearing.
The bearing gave out, the idler chewed though the cover, and the belt slipped.
The enginge was distroyed in about 30 seconds:
So
New engine 1000
parts 500
labor 1000
