I think I'm going insane. I'm working on rebuilding an AW30-40 transmission out of a 95 960. All mechanicals have been rebuilt. However, I cannot seem to find a set of gaskets for the valve body (read control unit in the parts catalog). There is an upper and lower gasket on the separator plate. The rebuild kit came with gaskets that are way wrong, the cross reference sheet for the kit says they are not available and to reuse the old. The dealer claims they don't rebuild the control unit, they just throw a new one in and throw the old one away (from the parts department guy). I've talked to Axiom Trasmissions and Trasmission Exchange. No dice. I talked to Axiom's gasket supplier. No dice. The only person I've found that says they can get these gaskets is in England, and he pointed me back to Axiom. Grrrrrr.....

Anybody else have a source? I could reuse the old one, but it is fairly brittle and I would prefer to replace with new.

The dealer doesn't rebuild them they just send them back to volvo.Im not sure what else to tell you but I will do some checking.
