wouldn't start in -20 cold
hello everyone. I've been on this site for a few months now, but this is my first post. I currently own a 1993 960, 147,000 miles, with a fresh engine. It has never given me any trouble, up untill a few days ago. On tuesday night it dipped down to -20, and when I went out to start it in the morning it would just crank and crank and crank, then almost catch, then crank some more. I popped the hood and poked around but didn't see anything obviously wrong. I tried cranking it with the gas pedal halfway depressed (as the manual states) and still nothing. Finally the battery ran out, so I hooked it up to jumper cables. After 2 or 3 tries it fired right up like nothing was wrong. The check coolant light came on for the first minute or so, yet the fluid level was right where it was supposed to be and there was no evidence of a leak. We've had a few more cold nights since, and it has started with no problems...although I did plug it in any night it was supposed to get below 0. The battery is new as well.
