Hello everyone,
I'm newer to the Volvo platform and have been loving it, but recently I started having an issue with my transmission. I was driving the car home and decided to stop at a friends house for a couple of minutes. Left the car running on park. once I left the car started like struggling to push off. As I was slowing down the car went limp. No power to the transmission so I pushed the car to the side of a neighborhood. As I was waiting for someone to pick me up, I checked around the car for any signs of mechanical failure. It seemed fine so once I got back into my car I turned it on and to my surprise it worked just fine... for about a minute before it did the same thing. Later that week I took it to a shop and they came back with 4 codes.
1A61 - Communication with TCM control module signal missing
5130 - Communication TCM faulty signal
0001F - VSS signal missing
0083 - VSS signal too low
I also wanted a second opinion from another mechanic and he cleared all the codes. What mainly popped up was a code leading to the transmission position sensor.
I'm going to start with cleaning all the connections and sensors and seeing what happens. Any other help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
