Default 1993 N/A cam question

So i hear some folks here and there saying that the 1993 N/A cams are THE cams to have in your 850T. I've kinda accepted that, but I have no clue of the reasoning behind it. is there anyone who can tell me? Also, I've heard people claim anywhere from 10-30 HP gains from swapping cams. Not saying i believe it or disbelieve it, but I'd like to hear from some folks who have experience here.

Does anyone have any input on this? Anyone here done the swap? if so, did you notice power gains? if so, were they low end, high end, or all through the RPM range?

I'd love to hear people's experiences on this.

93 na cams have the largest lobes. yes, people have gained upwards of 30 hp from them. power gains are where you want them, you'll have to time the cams if you want more low end power or high end power. I advanced them netting me more low end power, but increased power was noticeable through the entire power band.

That's the cliff notes. Try searching on VS, there's a few fairly large threads talking all about them.

From what I've read on VS and elsewhere the NA cam has higher lift and longer deration and tuning them individualy can come up with good results... something like +4* on intake and +2* exaust seems to be the common point most people have said is decent. but i dont know.. i dont hvae them...

Plus they seem to be the "cam to get" largely because there are no other ones out there to get... (whats the deal with that?)

Also in all my looking (work can be slow at times) i have never seen a dyno chart showing before and after.... So its all just grain of salt kinda stuff to me...
