Default 1995 850 in limp for no reason. PLEASE HELP

I wont bore anyone with the stupid details, just the problem. I bought a 1995 850 about 2 weeks ago..my third one. it ran and drove perfect until last night. My battery died overnight..jump started it this morning and now the transmission is apparently in limp mode. Is there something I can do to reset something?? Any help is appreciated. I did look for similar issues on the forum and nothing seems to help!

disconnect the battery for a while and reconnect and see what it does. if not you can pull codes from it

If you don't have a code reader to reset the ecu & dtc, use the OBD-I boxes under the hood.

The 850 is my backup car, and that day I needed back up lol!! I ended up just driving it that way to where I needed to go..had it parked for all of about 20 minutes, and by the time I started it back up, it was fine. I've never seen any of my Volvo's do anything like that before!! When I had my 960 last year, I practically had to jump it every morning before work because something was draining the power while it was parked, and the only thing I had to worry about there was resetting my presets on the radio!

Thanks for the responses though guys..I really would have been bad for me to be stuck that day!

For some reason the transmission does reset itself if things go back to normal. However, the codes still sit in the OBD-I port. I've been driving around with a bad tranny in my wagon and when I try to put a load on it I get the P0700 code and if I take it easy for a trip or two the arrow and cel will go away.
