would it be possible to reshim A/C clutch on 850 turbo without pulling whole compressor assembly out?

Yes it is possible but it is a pain. You have to support the motor and drop the subframe down then work the compressor down enough to get it apart.

I have done about 30 of them. It can be done but it is a pain. You also loosen the bracket on the dryer so you can slide the dryer some to get the compressor to where you can work on it.

damit, sounds horrible but has to be done soon, summer is hot in texas, i assume removing the whole assembly would be even more of a pain? bread clip idea just doesnt sound right

Well that might be a little easier. If you remove the entire compressor you can remove the dryer as well. Then the compressor will fit through where the dryer was.

I am not a fan of the bread clip idea either!

trying to find step by step instructions on a/c compressor removal, any idea?
