A/C Clutch Won't Engage - Reshim Fix?
The A/C on my 2004.5 s40 t5 cuts out if the temperature outside is 77 degrees or greater. My local indy shop (SF Bay Area) looks at it and said that when it gets that hot that the clutch won't engage. They noted that the compressor is getting a charge. I've read that a reshim might be an option to fix this without replacing the compressor. I really don't have the money to replace the compressor so I'm hoping to find a cheaper fix. Would a reshim be a reasonable solution to this problem? If so, how much should I expect to pay for such? Your help and advise is greatly appreciated!
