The rear bumper of my family's wonderful Volvo 850 is now a bit broken, so we need to take it off. I have the Hayne's manual for the 850, but that one describes a chassis slightly different from the one we have, so it's not really much help. The car is pretty standard, the "luxury" version with all the wood and leather, automatic transmission, and the great 2.5 litre engine.

Does anyone know how to remove it the rear bumper?

 

From what I can tell on my car, you pull the bolts out of the mount on both sides (one side very close to the tail pipe). Then remove the rivets from the rear wheel skirts, then there is one bolt on each side just behind the tire skirts. Then you pull it back and it will side out of some guides.
