Hi everyone,

I have the following trouble code coming up on my 96 Volvo 850 -
P0410 - Secondary Air Injection System

Can anyone tell me what that is and what I need to look for or at to repair the problem. Any help is greatlyappreciated.

Under the front of the car like under the Battery you wil see a Motor. You will have to remove the Air Guide if your car still has one.
Usually what happens is the Pump fills with Water and shorts out.
Also inspect the relay for Water.
Also check the Valve at the Back of the Head and make sure it works properly.

Is this something I can pull out, clean-up, dry out and re install or does it usually require that it gets replaced?

Most of the time it needs replacement.

It will rust if it has been that way for a while.

The Air pump only comes on for about 1 minutes when first started in the morning.
Something about Fresh Air to the air box on first start up.

I think it is supposed to pump Faster air to make it warm up faster.
