Poro: you are sweating this country of origin thing WAY too much. All of the tooling, manufacturing process, etc, is set up by Volvo. Suppliers are also going to be supplying the plants from the same stock of parts. Quality is gonna be pretty much the same regardless of where it's built.

VW beetles were built in Mexico, Chevy V8 high performance cylinder heads were stamped "HECHO EN MEXICO"

Toyotas are still being built here in the US

Ibified is right, quality control were filtered through Volvo. I wouldn't worry one bit.

Poro, if you get the car, these guys on the forum will help you. They are bunch of honest cool dudes. Their insight in these cars are better than any manual.

The thing to me is the features. The car in the ad has NO temp, no trip computer, no power passenger seat (maybe not even a powered drivers seat), likely no sun-roof and most importantly - NO TURBO. What's the point in owning an old crummy car if you can't even embarris someone from time to time with speed?

Power seats etc I beleive it is equipted with..
As far as a turbo, I don't need to go gettin' in trouble embrasing folk.
Just another piece I'd have to eventually replace anyway.. $$$
