Default 1997 850 NA wagon exhaust system

Hey guys
First post on this forum mostly because I'd like to see what kind of info is out there.
I have a growing exhaust leak (nothing TOO terrible..... yet) Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions in terms of potential mufflers/systems that are good for the money? Any special Volvo wisdom I don't know yet? Or should I just bite the bullet and get the FCP muffler system and bolt it on?
Thanks
Nick

You talking about this?
Volvo Exhaust Muffler (850 S70 V70) - Starla 290-517 | FCP Euro

You know that's aftermkt right? Is this a cream-puff or your DD beater? If the latter, i would just find a decent one at the JY. I just took the stock one off of my car; you can have it after i make sure i don't need it... where abouts are you?

Yes that's the one
I know it's aftermarket but I generally trust FCP plus they have a full return policy. I still have to narrow down where the leak is but I'm pretty sure it's after the Cat converter.
She's certainly not a beater, only 100k and garaged most of her life by the previous owner! I'm in central MA

OK, see exactly where the problem is and go from there; exhaust shop may be able to patch it cheaply.

After half an hour of searching I have found nothing. not the slightest leak. I think the muffler is aftermarket and just lets out a low growl. But I can't seem to find anything.

Sounds like you might have a bad hanger causing the exhaust to vibrate against the bottom of the car. Although flex pipes can be a point of failure to look for as well.
