1997 850 T5 Vacuum lines
Quick question here. 1997 850 T5. On the accordian tube after the MAF there is a vac line (blue) that goes to the TCV on the underside of the accordian hose. There is another nipple on the side of the hose pointing towards the master cylinder that has nothing on it at all. Thinking that this was a dummy nipple I put a hos eon to it and had no problem blowing air through it. Is this nipple normally plugged or is there an actual hose that goes to it?
Ok Tech...that would be great. Here is a pic of the hose/nipple........

I still haven't had one come into work yet.
I will bet it is for the air pump valve located on the back of the engine. Follow the hose from the metal valve to the drivers side strut tower area to the electric valve and see if there is a line missing or trace the other line and see where is goes and if it is attached.

Well I have one line the goes from the TCV to the WG. I have another line from the TCV to the accordian hose aft AF. I have one line from the TCV to the tree. I am doing this off of the top of my head. WHere is the air pump on the back of the motor? I have never noticed this before.
Look for a round metal valve that attaches to a pipe just at the back of the top of the engine. But if you don't have that then it would only be capped. Also check to see if you have an air pump if so it would be under the car on the drivers side. Also you would have a black hose that attaches to the air box lid. It is a bigger hose almost like a heater hose size.
