Default 1997 Volvo 850 T5 passenger side oil leak

Hello,

I have an oil leak coming from the passenger side of the car. I noticed it when I was changing the control arms.

Wondering if there is anyone out there who knows what causes this or what part it is? Looking at fixing it, but need to know the part that is needed.

I changed out the oil trap for the pcv system a couple months ago.

Attached are the pics of the part that is leaking and showing it leaking.

Thanks for any help!!

did you pull off the timing belt cover? My guess is you are leaking at one of the front cam seals. Also when you did the oil trap, were the engine ports cleaned out? Try doing the rubber glove test to see if you still have positive PCV pressure as that can push out seals or push oil past the seals. You may need to redo the oil trap job and "rod out" the block (sorry to say, I've learned this the hard way...)

The thing that the oil is on is a connector for the engine oil cooler lines, but the oil may have come from higher up. The cam seals are definitely a favorite. The oil cooler lines also typically "ooze" oil and that might be the issue here. Oil could have run down the lines and gotten blown back to where you see it here.

Have not tried to pull off the timing cover yet, but was going to do that soon. It needs that belt replaced real soon.

Thanks for the suggestions and what it might be. Will keep you posted to what it is and what I find out. Thank you again!
