1997 Volvo 850 t5 wont start.
Hello!
I just got this car - not a car person - googled and found this site. Hoping someone here can help me.
The car started fine when I bought it (4 hours ago) and ran well.
Then we pay the guy - drive it home. Now it wont start.
The battery is fine - all the lights come on and it seems to have plenty of juice. When I turn the key, nothing happens. No click no engine no nothing. All the panel lights come on but no engine activity at all.
Any ideas?
The check engine light did come on for a second (of course) after we paid the guy.

Check the starter and signal wire. Make sure the signal wire is not corroded or loose.Green small wire. Tap the starter and try to crank it. If that doesn't work. Place your hand around the starter to see if it's hot. I've seen these get shorted. I would scan for codes and then go from there.
