It sounds like a fuel delivery problem. The fuel pump relays get temperature sensitive as they begin to die. The next time it dies use a rag to catch any spray and check for fuel pressure on the schrader valve on the end of the fuel rail. Be careful not to spray gasoline in your eyes, if you have safety glasses wear them. If the fuel pressure is good it should squirt out with good pressure. If it just dribbles out then there is a problem with the fuel pump or the relay.

Ozark...mine was doing the same thing (no offense) , and my recommendation is....
1. Clean the throttle body
2. Clean the IACV
3. Clean the MAF...

In my case the Maf was the clincher, but each of those did make a difference...

Any Codes?

My gut said MAF until the temperature came into the equation. My MAF problems have never been temperature dependant, my fuel pressure problems have always been in the shoulder season between hot and cold or visa versa. At least we have given gugge some things to look at and no expensive parts are involved - yet.

Check what Ozark said, my problem was not temp dependent...I see in re reading your post he was right the temperature dependency is an issue with your car. Although cleaning those things don't cost anything and is never a 'bad deal'...so before you reply, double check Ozarks idea also...

Best of Luck
