Default 850 ECU Swap?

Hey guys, I searched the forum for "ECU" to see if anything like this was posted but I recently went to the Junk Yard Here in Canada and Found a US Volvo S70 T5. I own a 1994 Volvo Turbo.

I pulled both ECU's transmission and Engine management i guess.

Anyways would swapping the two or one make a difference in terms of performance, I've read boost is up about a pound on the s70 because its what a 15G turbo?? Would i burn more fuel with this ECU, would it be worth it, would it damage my car?

If not do i just install it and wait for changes during the break in period?? Because i did find the ecu's to not be fully covered from the elements but they've been inside for months so unless submerged they should be okay yes? :S And i will ge tthe part numbers up asap just not at home at the moment.

Thanks in advance, Kelsey

DO not run a S70 computer in the 850.
There is differences in the wiring.
You can run a 94-97 850 computer but not a S70.

Okay great, good to know, thanks i didn't know that's why i wanted to know thanks for the help, and the advanced warning, i guess i might as well sell the ECU, both are no good for the 850 then since I'm sure how the transmission is set up is much different too.

thanks Tech

Your welcome.
Also a little tip try to find a 96 850 computer with no air pump or EGR and you will be set.

okay great, its really hard, I've never even seen a wrecked 850 in my city end up for parts, they always get auctioned and bought from the insurance companies for people needing a cheap car or a whole lot of parts, hope i find one, i lucked out and found a bunch of hose for the air intake system, intercooler and the rad from a turbo S70 i pulled those ECU's from so thanks again, will look into it...

What performance does the 96' have that the others don't i realize before EGr is better but 94, 95, what do they lack?

Well the EGR is pretty problematic so me myself I would rather just do away with it.
