Default Battery Drain over night

Have a '96 Volvo 850 has only 68k miles she is still a baby so would like to try and get the repairs made. There are a few problems but the main problem i am having is that for the past year I have been having a problem with the battery draining itself. It will generally happen overnight. Took it to a mechanic and they could not find anything wrong. what I have found is that it will only do it in the summer. I did not have this problem all winter long but as soon as it began to warm up and become humid again that battery would drain itself. So i figure it is something to do with humidity(rain fall also appears to do it too.)

Took a look and found that the cabin filter is dirty and if the replacement tag is right it was last replace 12 years and 55,000 miles ago so obviously im going to replace that with a new activated charcoal filter(only type i found). I am also wondering if it may deal with the cabin fan coming on throughout the night because of that humidity sensor to blow the air out. If anyone has had this problem before or has any idea please let me know. I am hoping that just replacing the filter will do it but if not could use some help. thank you

Make sure the glovebox light is not staying on. Maybe remove the bulb for now and see if the draining stops.
