Default 850 Foglight picture request - Mounting Project

I have a 94 850 and I'm starting to put some foglights in them. I looked on the rear side of the bumper and saw that there are already cut out templates on the rear side on the outside.

Could I have someone that owns an 850-R or some like model take pictures from the rear side on how the fogs are mounted up? I'm going to be running my foglights in parallel with my headlights cause I'm afraid I don't have the wiring or the switch.

My last question would be if I were to hook them up in parallel with my headlights, would the current draw be higher? Would I blow a fuse? I'm already drawing 35W per bulb cause I'm running 4300K HID's and the fogs I got were off a Hyundai, running 9006 Bulbs out of projectors. I'm wondering if I would run into any power problems.

Thanks!

Well I just got fogs mounted, however its poorly while I'm still working on them. I was looking at the Volvo Website (:https://www.customers.volvocars.com/...850_Turbo.html) and it said I was prewired for foglights. Could someone that has foglights already please post some pictures of their foglights mounted, and how the wiring goes? Thanks!

if you are prewired, you would see the connections under the bumper on each side

When I get mine jacked up later today I will snap a picture of how they are mounted. Can't help you on the wiring though.

The wiring will be clipped up under the front bumper.

But to make it all work you will need a headlight relay, foglight relay, and jumper relay to make it all work beside the foglight switch as well.

Here are some pictures of how they are mounted up under my 95 T5R.

First two are left side and the 2nd two are right side. Pretty sure therer is a bracket on the top that you really can not see in the pictures that holds them in place with two bolts. Hard to get a picture of it unless you take the light out though. I have put new ones in on mine and it's not that hard to figure out.

Good Luck.

Jim is that coolant on the body on top of the foglight? Like a radiator leaking?

It is coolant, but not a leak. I had it jacked up to take the intake manifold off and took the hose to the thermostat off and pushed it to the side. I pushed it down to low and quite a bit of coolant ran out before I noticed it. When I had the hose up it didn't leak.

Alright, so there's already a shorud and stuff. Hurm, alright. I have mine mounted up right now, although its very bootleg. I need to make a better mount out of some thick sheetmetal. Right now I have it bolted and right up to the front. I'm hopefully going to make a shroud soon, I just don't know out of what material. I'll snap pictures later tonight when it gets dark.

As for my wiring, because I'd always have them on and because I don't feel like making a switch, I spliced into the headlight wiring to get my soruce of power. I spliced in parallel, and I have 9006 Silverstars in there right now. I have a total of 90watts per side, so do you think I'd run into a problem with 180 watts total draw on the headlights?

You might and might not depending on the condition of the headlight wiring.

Jim glad that's all it was.

Alright thanks guys. I'll take pictures as soon as I can get a good camera to take pictures with. Everything works nice right now. I have a nice rainbow colored cutoff from the fogs

Not the best, but they don't look horrible. Remember, these are off a Hyundai.
