850 GLS 1996 station wagon. Petrol non turbo.

This morning the electric windows were completely dead. No click , no noises. No symptoms of failing, they were fine until today. Tried the child lock, the other console functions work (mirrors, electric seat, sports/economy switch). Tried the switches on rear doors but they don't work either. Checked fuses - there is no fuse, looked up that there is a "auto circuit breaker" in position #37, checked that small silver c/b and it has zero ohms between the two contacts. Tried switching central locks on and off, drive a bit and waited to see if it would magically recover. But no.

check volvotips.com for a wiring diagram. since you've checked fuses, next is to see where you have voltage and where you dont (or don't have a ground) As you've noted could be a fuse, relay or circuit breaker, master switch, or wiring.

 

Thanks, thought there may be an easy way but you're right we'll just have to go through it logically
