Folks,
My '97 850 GLT has 170K on it and just had all the exhaust valves replaced by a Volvo independent mechanic. THe guides checked out okay per the machine shop. Here's the problem: blue smoke cloud on takeoff AFTER I coast to a stop on a exit ramp or down a long grade and then accelerate up the other side. The PVC system was replaced fully less than 20K ago, new plugs, wires, cap, fuel filter, air filter and injectors all cleaned and balanced to <2 % of one another. The car uses 1 quart of 10/30 synthetic every 1500 miles or so and yes I've got some drops under the car nightly. Turbo oil return line seal kit installed 60K ago. I'm thinking turbo rebuild time and feel competent enough to do it myself but am looking for recommendations on who to buy a rebuild kit for my 13G from. Thoughts and recommendations welcome.

Did you remove the intake hose to the inlet of the turbo and spin/ push on the shaft?

If it has play, as in touching the compressor housing walls or too much wiggle action, then it will need rebuilding.

Not sure on where to get a kit from.......check ebay? turbobricks.com? FCP Groton?
