Default Air Intake kits for an 850 turbo? (Who offers)

I been looking around and seeing some really high prices for an open airfilter kit. Was curious if you guys can tell me who offers them.

Thanks

I made my own on my 850. I modified the stock air box and then made a ram air intake from the front of the car by the fog light.

Oh a fellow Connecticut volvo lover! nice to see and great to see that wesbite.

Do you have pics of your setup?

Also does anyone know of an adapter that matches up and I can pick my own cone filter? I really have a difficult time forking over 179-199 for these kits I am seeing. I just assume make my own as well as a carbon wall to block engine hot air.

Hence the giant filter. It's not like the air coming in the stock location is pristine and the air coming in by the fog light is completely polluted.

If you have a good filter like K&N you'd be fine, you would probably just have to clean it more often and make sure it's well oiled.

yep.. but you'll have to clean it all the time to make sure it doesent restrict..

on a side note i have winter here, so some mornings i have to power house it out of my drivway because of the snow wall from the plow.. most snowy days those holes are completly blocked with ice and snow.

I made my own from a piece of aluminum, an extra hood/firewall seal, filter and adaptor from Kragen(Checker, O'rileys). Total cost was $40.

Do you know which adapter? Part number or a link?

Thanks

do you mean the connector from the filter to the map?

The filter is connected to a 30 degree elbow then to the map. Everything was from the shelf at Kragen. I dont have the packaging anymore, just measure the map and so shopping.
