I was wondering if the higher output of the 850 R is due to engine internals or mainly computer mapping. I know the turbo is a higher pressure in the R motor, but is that because its a different turbo altogether or is it the because the actuator rod is adjusted to a higher setting? The reason I ask is that I just purchased a 96 850 turbo wagon and will be selling my 96 850 R sedan to my mother in law and if its just a matter of swapping ecu's and giving the pushrod a few turns, great. She dosen't need ALL that power!

 

The best thing to do would be try to call IPD and ask them.They are usually Very helpfull on stuff like this.
