850 Service
I have a 94 850 Turbo Wagon and a 96 850 GLT Sedan. I live in Fairfax, Virginia. Can any one guide me to a good service stattion for geneneral service and repairs?

I find that the dealer is over priced and ineffective. It seems to me that the dealer mechanics are well trained on the new models because. The dealers focus on these because they can push most warranty work through the Volvo USA. But when it comes to older cars, they don't seem to do as well and charge a bundle for labor.

Anyone that could point me into the direction of a good mechanic would well recieved.

I also have no idea but you could post at www.MatthewsVolvoSite.com as well. You can also ask other 850 owners around. There are a lot of them in the NE. When you do, ask them if the place only does Volvo's. You can call around and ask places. When you do, ask them a few test questions like; How often does the timing belt need to be replaced? If they replace many PCV systems? If they know that stuff they should be ok. Now Volvo shops are still not cheap but they should do the work right.
I second the call on learning how to do some things yourself. With a lot of the instructions around here you should be able to do some stuff. Many of my instructions can be followed by a 14 year old.
