i have an 850 and the other day i went to adjust the heater control to get the air to blow on the front window. it was really stiff to turn the centre **** in the up right position. so i twisted it with force and it went really loose now the heater control is not working properly the air comes out the main Vents and the **** now comes off easily you can get it to go on the windscreen but it takes 5 mins of messing about with it and the settings are Messed up. and body have any advice on how to fix it?

Is it automatic (ECC) or Manual (MCC)

 

its manual without air con. i took it apart yesterday and moved one of the cable that goes to the middle control so it blows on the windscreen again but the other cable which i think lets you put the heaters on the foot well seems to be stuck i have broke the little white plastic stick that the centre k n ob sits on so i could only adjust it by moving the cable. can the middle control be replaced or will i need a full unit?

 

I haven't had a manual Volvo control apart but I'm guessing you'll need a complete head. I haven't seen any that are modular on other cars and from the photos of a MCC I don't think Volvo's is either.

Maybe someone else will jump in with an idea
