850 Tubo chrome tail pipe and badges
I love my car but the rusted tail pipe and faded Volvo badges (emblems) make it look like a piece of crap. I really can't stand it anymore. Sorry for whining! Just takes the joy out of driving the car.
Does anyone know what the dealer charges for these parts? I called my local dealer but they would not give me a quote over the phone. I see FCPGroton.com has a tail pipe but it's not chrome. I see badges on eBay but they all look ancient.
-Chrome tail pipe (the weirdly rectangular shaped tip only)*
-Volvo emblems; Volvo, 850, Turbo
*Wondering if it would be nearly as cheap to have a round pipe welded onto the muffler so I can use any old chrome tip.
Thanks.

I pulled my 850 and Turbo badges off. Your welcome to the 850 badge. You'll need to get some double sided tape. If you want it send me a note with your address and I'll stick it in an envelope.
I had an original rectangular tailpipe that had another rectangular pipe inside of it. I just assumed that the 2nd rectangular pipe went all the way to the muffler. It did not.
Good info I'm totally bolting a new tip on, mine looks crappy. How do I take off my emblems without breaking them or scratching the paint? I'll just paint them myself once I get them off. And is double sided tape legit for lasting over time? I would hate to lose an emblem driving down the highway.
To get them off you use some heavy duty fishing line and use it like floss behind the badges, and then once they're off, make sure to have something to get the adhesive residue off right away, and then clean/wax the area.
People say to use double sided tape, I don't see how that would hold after an extended period of time though, maybe try a different adhesive of some sort. Do a google search on it, you could probably come up instructions, or wait till someone on here who has actually done it.
I used 3M Body Molding Tape that I got at www.Autozone.com when we put the spoiler on my sons car. Just be sure you have the emblem exactly where you want it because it is a PITA to get off.
If you search, you might be able to find the exact dimensions of where the badges go. When I got my motorsports badge from IPD it came with directions and exact measurements on where all the badges go.

Still not sure how to go about getting brand spanking new badges. I guess I could paint mine but I'd like them to look original and it looks like a 'chrome plating' plastic kit can cost several hundred dollars. blech

Thanks for the offer! I will keep it in mind if I can't find brand new badges somewhere.
That's how they came in 1994. And the plate is messed up because the bottom part of my bumper was completely rusted out and I fixed it, but when I took off the plate the bolts snapped off, so in order to put the plate back on I would have had to take the bracket off, but I didn't want to do that with drying paint right below it.
Cheapest stuff I've seen so far (that might look nice) for painting old badges. $115 is still not 'free' and you'd have to mask off the badges and paint them black in places as well, but still. It could be a valid option. You'd probably have to take it easy at the car wash of course.
