850 turbo-acceleration problem
Hello everyone,
I just bought a month ago stock 96 850 turbo with 130000 k.It runs great except when i accelerate hard ,the car stars to hesitate -jerk. It only happens under heavy boost when auto trans is forced to downshift. Anyone who knows what it could be?
Thank you.

RE: 850 turbo-acceleration problem
Tech, thank you so much for your reply and advice. You were right, the car needed tune up. Yesterday, i changed spark plugs, cables, distributor cap and rotor. What a difference when i took it for a spin. Now it runs like a swiss watch. One more problem i discovered when took off the engine cover, top of the motor was all covered with engine oil. Looks like it's leaking from oil filler cap, at least that's what i think it is. Will get new one tommorrow. Thanks again for your help.

The fender & door side mouldings are actually made in Switzerland...[8D]
See my 1st & 2nd replies in the following thread for a complete tune-up +:

As to the oil leak, it is a known chronic problem to the 850s. Follow Psaboic’s advice, and I would also consider investing in a complete PCV component replacement.
PCV kit:

Gaskets & O-rings:

Note, that in order to replace the PCV components, the intake manifold would have to come off, which means you need a new manifold gasket.
I hope all goes well.
