Default 850 Turbo Gauge

Hi,

I have recently bought an 850 T5 (1995), all has been going well (apart from a radiator problem fixed just before I had the car). Apparently it had a new turbo fitted a little while ago, it has been working fine, but this morning as I drove to work I noticed that the turbo gauge is at 12 o'clock and not moving!

I am not sure whether the turbo is working and its just the gauge, or whether this is likely to be an indication of a turbo problem.

Wondered if anyone had ever seen a similar problem or had any tests they could suggest.

Cheers
Jim.

I had a guy do some work on my 850 Turbo one time and the Turbo Guage didn't work when he finsished. The next time I took it to the Volvo mechanic he fixed something else and when I got it back the Turbo Guage was working fine. The car seemed to run the same whether it was working or not. I think it was just a lose wire, if I remember correctly. If yours is running fine, I would just have it looked at then next time you have it in the shop for something.

The boost guage is moved by a vaccum line that attaches to the back of the guage. Then it runs to the engine.
