Default 850R - Gasket between downpipe and turbo flange??

So I am going to be installing a replacement downpipe onto my '96 850R in a couple of days, called my local Volvo dealer to order the downpipe to turbo flange gasket. They tell me there isn't one? Could this be correct?

Thanks!
Tim

Nobody knows if there's supposed to be a gasket between the downpipe and turbo?

I pulled off my old downpipe last night and there was no gasket between the two. Even though that's what the Volvo parts guy told me, I was still rather surprised by that.

Thank you to all for the information.

I'm guessing it might be that the flange on the exhaust pipe is thick enough the engineers figured it would hold tight and flat against the housing.
