I have a 93 volvo 850 and the car was running good with no problems and then all of a sudden the next day when I started to warm it up i noticed a little miss. well anyways I proceeded to take off and the car started hesitating really bad to the point that it turned off a couple of times. I changed the fuel filter and spark plugs you know the usual tune up, but the car is still bogging out real bad! almost gorgot to mention that the exhaust smells funky..maybe like its burning too rich? any ideas on what it could be?

 

MAF maybe, does it idle rough?

 

not too bad but not as smooth as it should be...

 

start the car and then unplug the MAF and see if the idling changes much. Or try cleaning it with MAF sensor cleaner

 

Could also be the fuel pressure regulator. If the MAF cleaning does not fix it, I would look at that next.

ive tried mostly everything...BUT last night when I had the motor running I grabbed the spark plug wire and it shocked me!! so I looked into it and noticed a small crack in the wire and spark coming through??...could that be my problem???
