94 850- 5 speed, lots of minor problems
hey new member here,
trying to get some answers that might save me some money
, fewthings,
1)my driver seat is broken in a recline position. the seat motor turns on but nothing happens, it can move forward, back, and the whole unit can tilt, however the top of the seat will not recline or raise. an ideas instead of buying a new seat ?
2) there is a weird hum coming from the engine, usually when i accel. air leak?
3)Dash lights are dim in some areas and the speed odm is broken. oh and the service light is on. should i take this to the dealer to fix?
any help would be much appreciated !

Your seat probably has a broken cable. Search the 850 forum and I'm sure there is a thread on how to fix it. I can not remember exactly how to do it, but know I have read it several times.
Also I am moving the to the 850 forum so you will get more responses.

As far as the hum goes... could be lots of things, are you sure its not the Turbo kickin in?
The odometer is a common problem, and IPD sells a kit that includes a DVD that walks you through replacing the gear that fails. The top of this thread has Tech's procedure on how to remove the dash which is required to get to the dash lights and odometer. Depends on how bad you want it fixed.
The service light is a 'dummy' light, that is triggered by mileage only. It goes off after a few minutes. There are many posts on this forum in regards to how to turn it off. I think with a pre-1996 model you can turn it off yourself fairly easily.
Good luck
