few questions about interior wiring on my Volvo. it's an 86 so i'm sure theres bound to be a few problems. some broken or shorted wires. A few bad switches.

The car: 86 740
The Issues: Speakers cutting in and out, window switch not always working, marker light on door panel works intermittantly. All on one door. Doom light does not cut off when all doors are shut with switch on light in either forward or rear positions.

I know that the problem in the one door is because the wiring going to the door from the body has breaks in it. The door has been used alot. as for the doom light i can't figure it out. should work off a grounding system as far as I know and i can't begin to think where to start looking to fix the problem. Ignavus helped out alot on my last Problem. I hope theres someone around that knows alittle about Wiring.

 

You will have to start repairs on the wiring first.
For the dome light check the button in the door jam and the wiring behind it.Make sure the wire didn't come off the button and is sitting on the body supplying the ground to always keep it on.

 

hopefully someone is still keeping up with this one. been real busy lately haven't had time to do the wring check. check the buttons for each door. they all work. The doors have markers on them and they all turn off when i push the button. the doom light has two positions to put it in and either way i go it stays on. could there be a break somewhere in the wiring under the head liner maybe?
