I am going to replace the fan shroud on this car, as the original one is cracked on one side around one of the anchor bolts. Is there anything "special" I need to know before just starting to unbolt the old one, and all the attached menagerie of parts to replace it? Any special "tricks"?

Also...between the driver's side headlight assembly and the battery, there are 2 "electric cables" that come up and into the same "rectangular fitting". The one on this car has the cover to that "fitting" cracked. Can you tell me what it is, so I can get another cover for it? Also, it is just hanging loose, is there a place it should attach?
